Man found burned in La Vega mine identified
The competent authorities have managed to identify the man whose body was found lifeless inside a mine, located in the community of El Pino, in the province of La Vega. The victim’s name was Martín Antonio Salvador Burgos Solano, 63 years old.
The discovery occurred following an alert received by the 9-1-1 National Emergency System, which notified about a vehicle on fire in the aforementioned area, near the Duarte highway. After the intervention of the Fire Department, who managed to extinguish the flames, the tragic death was confirmed upon finding the corpse in an advanced state of carbonization next to the car.

The chief prosecutor of La Vega, Aura Luz García, provided details on the progress of the investigation. According to the testimonies collected, an eyewitness indicated that they observed Mr. Burgos Solano enter the location alone in the vehicle, and that just five minutes later, the unit began to burst into flames, prompting the call for help to the authorities.
So far, no evidence has been found to indicate the involvement of third parties in the death of Salvador Burgos, although investigations remain open to clarify the facts with total precision.

Collected evidence
Scientific Police teams and representatives of the Public Ministry carried out the processing of the scene, where they collected various items for forensic analysis, among which the following stand out:
- The license plate of the damaged vehicle.
- A cell phone affected by the fire.
- A flowerpot and a pair of pliers.
- Other personal items found in the perimeter.
The body was transferred to the National Institute of Forensic Sciences (Inacif) in the city of Santiago for the required studies. Meanwhile, the Public Ministry continues to work to determine the exact causes that triggered the fire and the specific circumstances surrounding the death of Martín Antonio Salvador Burgos Solano.
