Dominican Republic seeks to host the 2027 Kids Caribbean Series
The Dominican Professional Baseball League (LIDOM) has taken a firm step in its commitment to the development of youth talent by formally requesting the Caribbean Professional Baseball Confederation (CBPC) to host the 2027 edition of the Caribbean Kids Series. The main objective is to bring this prestigious international event to the country for the first time in its history.
The announcement was made official by Pavel Aguiló, general manager of the Dominican team, who acted on behalf of Vitelio Mejía Ortiz, president of the league. According to Aguiló, the organization’s intention is to provide young local baseball prospects the opportunity to shine before their own fans and on major stages.
This event has already grown up. We went from wearing shorts to wearing Bermuda shorts last year, and this year we put on long pants and it is time for us to say that the Dominican Republic is present.

The executive highlighted that the institution has the organizational and competitive capacity necessary to host an event of this level. He emphasized that the success of this tournament lies fundamentally in the enthusiasm of the fans, and he considers the Dominican public to be the ideal setting to continue raising the profile of the competition.
The Kids Caribbean Series, which has evolved significantly since its creation, has had its previous editions in venues such as Panama and recently in Nayarit, Mexico, where the local team took the title. In this regard, the Dominican representation extended its congratulations to the new Mexican monarchs and valued the effort shown by all the young baseball players who participated in the international competition.
If this request is finalized, the country would not only receive a top-tier sporting event, but would also consolidate its commitment to the development of future regional baseball stars, reaffirming its position as the epicenter of sports in the Caribbean.
