This Sunday, September 27th, the community will be the setting for its first 3-kilometer race, an event designed to promote athletics and strengthen integration between residents and visitors.
The competition is scheduled to start at 6:30 in the morning. Runners will travel through various iconic points in the area until they cross the finish line, which will be located at the picturesque Playa Grande. The activity is open to people of all ages, from children to seniors, thus promoting a healthy lifestyle and community coexistence.
A high-level sporting finale
This race not only represents a physical challenge for the participants, but it also marks the official closing of the 3rd edition of Sports Summer, a program that has energized the region over the last few months with competitions in various disciplines.
The main objective is to encourage physical activity and allow both local athletes and tourists to share their passion for running in a privileged natural environment.
After finishing the course, the event will culminate with the awards ceremony, where the performance and dedication of the athletes who stood out in the different disciplines developed throughout the summer will be recognized.
Open call for the community
The organizers have extended an open invitation to sports clubs, merchants, families, and the general public to be part of this sporting celebration. Whether as competitors in the 3-kilometer race or as spectators supporting the athletes, the invitation is to be part of this initiative that seeks to consolidate Las Galeras as a benchmark for sports in Samaná.
The appointment is scheduled for Sunday, September 27th at 6:30 in the morning at Playa Grande, consolidating one more effort to boost athletic development in this area of the country.
