Advances in the case of the death of Julián Oro Duro’s wife

The National Police continues to deepen its investigations into the tragic passing of Zeneida Socorro Castillo, wife of the renowned merengue artist Julián Oro Duro. In the last few hours, authorities have managed to obtain key evidence pointing to the possible planning of the event by people in the artist’s close circle.

Evidence seized from those involved

The spokesperson for the law enforcement institution, Colonel Diego Pesqueira, reported that during one of the raids carried out, the sum of 240 dollars in cash was seized. According to the investigations, this amount had been given to Juan Carlos Fernández García, alias Peña, as an advance for his alleged participation in the crime.

Current state of research

The National Police maintains a close collaboration with the Public Prosecutor’s Office to clarify the facts and determine the degree of responsibility of each of those involved. Currently, the following detainees remain in police custody for this case:

  • Kevin Dariel Germán Troncoso (alias Yandel)
  • Phillips Michael Tejeda Vásquez (alias Leandro)
  • Juan Carlos Fernández García (alias Peña)
  • Lawrence Marcos (alias Chiquito)

The authorities have emphasized that the information presented so far is preliminary in nature. It will be the Public Prosecutor’s Office that will be in charge of individualizing the accusations and formally presenting before the courts the evidentiary elements collected during the investigative proceedings, which are still ongoing.
