New Divine Mercy Chapel strengthens the community in La Vega
The community of Sabana Rey La Romera, located in the municipal district of El Ranchito in La Vega, now has a renovated spiritual meeting center. The Director of Provincial Development, José Andújar, officially delivered the Divine Mercy Chapel, a project that promises to transform the social and religious dynamics of some 1,150 residents in the area.
This project, executed with an investment exceeding 13.2 million pesos, responds to the citizens’ need to have a dignified and safe space for community integration and the practice of their faith.
Infrastructure and technical details
The construction, which stands on a plot of 367.36 square meters, has been designed to offer comfort and durability. Among the facilities included in the new premises, the following stand out:
- Main area for parishioners and functional altar design.
- Modern restrooms with ceramic tiling.
- Service areas such as storage and pump house.
- Perimeter protection via fencing and visitor parking.
- Exterior environment landscaped with concrete sidewalks, green areas, ornamental gardening, and an efficient lighting system.
Regarding the quality of the materials, the work stands out for the use of precious wood on its main door and treated pine for the liturgical furniture and interior doors, ensuring a welcoming and resistant aesthetic for years to come.
The delivery of this infrastructure will allow the residents of Sabana Rey La Romera to have their own space to profess their faith, celebrate religious activities, and strengthen community bonds.
