Jet Set Case: Merits trial continues this Friday with the presentation of new evidence
The judicial process seeking to determine criminal liability for the tragic collapse of the Jet Set nightclub roof, which occurred on April 8, 2025, resumes this Friday, October 2. Starting at 9:00 a.m., the Fourth Criminal Chamber of the National District, presided over by Judge Franny González Castillo, will continue the hearing with the presentation of witnesses and the formal incorporation of evidence against the establishment’s owners, Antonio and Maribel Espaillat.
Details of the last procedural day
The resumption of the trial comes after an intense session where the testimonies of former employees Gregory Adames and Guillermo Castillo drew the court’s attention. Adames’ statements brought to light the precarious conditions of the structure before the tragedy, specifically pointing out the existence of water leaks and damage to the ceiling tiles which, according to his version, were known to the administration.
The testimonies offered during the hearing have been subject to rigorous cross-examination by the defense, who seek to clarify the extent of the witnesses’ knowledge regarding maintenance work and the effective communication of said irregularities to the owners.
