Jared Oliva returns to the Toros del Este to strengthen the offense
The Toros del Este have made official the return of American outfielder Jared Oliva, who joins the La Romana team once again to strengthen the roster of imports in the current tournament of the Dominican Professional Baseball League (LIDOM). With this move, the team’s management seeks to add depth and dynamism to their lineup.
Jesús Mejía, general manager of the organization, was in charge of confirming the news and highlighted the 29-year-old player’s capabilities. Oliva, who bats right-handed, had a brief but productive stint with the team last season, where he posted a .245 average in 15 games, standing out for his ability to hit extra-base hits and his speed on the basepaths by recording seven stolen bases.
He is a proven player in LIDOM who brings speed, solid defense, and a productive bat. He strengthens the roster immediately.

Onboarding and offboarding details
Oliva’s arrival in the country is scheduled for this weekend, making him available to manager Víctor Estévez for his debut. The outfielder arrives to fill the vacancy left by utility player Peyton Eeles, who suffered physical discomfort during the preseason that prevented him from seeing official action. The Toros’ management keeps the door open for a possible return of Eeles once he completes his recovery process.
In his recent career, Oliva faced a 2026 season marked by injuries, seeing action in seven games with the San Francisco Giants in the Major Leagues and participating in 29 games in the minor leagues, where he maintained a .266 batting average and demonstrated his aggressiveness by stealing 16 bases.
Current situation and social commitment
The La Romana team remains competitive with a 3-3 record, placing them in third position in the standings. After their rest day this Friday, the team is preparing to face an important weekend duel against the Leones del Escogido.
Next Sunday’s match will be special, as the organization will celebrate the traditional Pink Afternoon. This initiative seeks to raise awareness and support the fight against breast cancer, offering a 2-for-1 ticket promotion for all fans who come to the stadium wearing a pink garment.
