ITLA promotes training paths to strengthen the industry’s digital skills

The Technological Institute of the Americas (ITLA) has reaffirmed its commitment to educational excellence by strengthening its professional training paths. These initiatives are strategically designed to bridge the gap between human talent and the technological demands of today’s productive sectors.

During the Talent Up presentation event, experts from Cisco Networking Academy and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) Group detailed the scope of this new scheme. The partnership between ITLA and Cisco, which now spans 25 years, is consolidated as the central axis for implementing advanced curricula that prepare professionals for the challenges of the digital age.

A flexible and specialized learning model

The educational proposal is organized under a level-based system that allows students and workers to advance according to their specific needs. This modular model includes everything from an introductory path to advanced specialization levels, allowing participants to choose their own path without the obligation of completing all courses in the same area.

  • Data analytics.
  • Smart manufacturing and industrial automation.
  • Cybersecurity.
  • Technical English as a transversal competence.

The methodology seeks for companies to participate actively, identifying the key competencies their collaborators need to achieve their strategic digital transformation objectives.

Cutting-edge certifications and tools

One of the key points addressed was the distinction between digital badges, which validate the completion of courses, and industry certifications, which require external assessments. To facilitate this process, ITLA has a Pearson VUE certification center, ensuring that professionals can validate their knowledge under international standards.

Likewise, the importance of technical English proficiency was highlighted. Given that a large part of machinery and artificial intelligence processes operate in this language, ITLA seeks to integrate this linguistic competence so that workers can interact more fluently in global and automated environments.

Although this proposal is in the process of being structured and is subject to adjustments, ITLA continues to position itself as a benchmark in technological training, ensuring that Dominican human capital is prepared to lead the digital transformation of the industry.
