Desperate search for missing man in Santiago Oeste irrigation canal
The community of Santiago Oeste remains on edge following the disappearance of Francisco Félix Familia, a 44-year-old man whose whereabouts have been a mystery since last Monday night. The citizen, a resident of the La Piña sector, was last seen in the vicinity of the Ulises Francisco Espaillat (UFE) irrigation canal, located in the La Emboscada area.
According to details provided by those close to him, Félix Familia headed to the canal after finishing his workday at a local free trade zone, a practice he performed occasionally. His brother, Martín Familia, reported that the man’s trail was lost at approximately 7:00 p.m.

The family’s anguish intensified upon finding various personal belongings on the canal bank, including their clothing and vehicle keys. Although there is a circulating version that they may have slipped and fallen into the water, the authorities have not yet confirmed this hypothesis.
