Fire destroys home and vehicles in the Colonial City; family escapes unharmed

A voracious fire that occurred during the early hours of this Sunday, September 20, in the Colonial City left significant material losses, affecting a wooden house, a commercial establishment, and three vehicles. Despite the magnitude of the blaze, the four people who resided in the property managed to get to safety and were unharmed.

The report from the 9-1-1 National Emergency and Security Response System indicates that the fire originated at approximately 4:58 a.m. on Arzobispo Portes Street, specifically at number 151, between 19 de Marzo Street and Callejón de Regina.

Response from emergency agencies

The rapid spread of the flames, facilitated by the building material of the dwelling, forced an immediate mobilization of emergency services. Fire Department units arrived at the scene at 5:11 a.m., finding the structure already consumed by the fire, which had spread to several vehicles parked nearby.
