Dominican basketball team fine-tunes details for the 2027 World Cup qualifying window

The Dominican Basketball Federation (Fedombal) has reaffirmed its commitment to the national fan base by announcing that ticket sales remain open for the momentous match that the senior men’s national team will play against Chile. This clash is part of the fourth qualifying window for the 2027 FIBA Basketball World Cup.

Fans of the sport of hoops and the ball can secure their spot for the home game through the official digital ticket sales platform.

International commitments calendar

The tricolor team, which currently holds a 4-2 record in the qualifying process, is preparing for two high-intensity duels. The schedule begins on August 27 in Brasilia, where the Dominican squad will face the Brazilian team, the undefeated group leader with a 6-0 record, at the Nilson Nelson Gymnasium starting at 8:10 at night.

Subsequently, the team will return to Dominican soil to face Chile, which arrives with a 2-4 record, on Monday, August 31. This match will be held at the Arena BanReservas Profesor Virgilio Travieso Soto, also starting at 8:10 p.m.

The road to Qatar 2027

The Dominican Republic is in Group E, a highly competitive sector that includes:
