Faride Raful oversees progress of the comprehensive security plan in Villas Agrícolas
The Minister of Interior and Police, Faride Raful, conducted a supervision tour this Saturday in Villas Agrícolas to evaluate the progress of the Comprehensive Intervention for Citizen Security program. This sector, selected as the starting point of the plan, has become the model where the central government is concentrating efforts on security, prevention, and the recovery of public spaces.
During the meeting at the Community Development Council, the official held a direct dialogue with residents and local leaders to identify areas for improvement and coordinate joint actions with the state institutions involved.
Citizen security is also built by listening to those who live the day-to-day in their communities. One of the changes we are promoting is sitting down with community leaders, learning what is happening in the territory, and strengthening that bond, because no one knows more than the neighbor about what happens in their community.

Concrete actions and visible results
The intervention plan has implemented various strategies to transform the Villas Agrícolas environment. Among the fundamental pillars that are already showing results are:
- Significant improvement in street lighting and surveillance.
- Strengthening of preventive patrolling under the New Patrol Model.
- Implementation of technical training, entrepreneurship, and youth training programs as conflict mediators.
- Establishment of seven Life Points to provide assistance to women in vulnerable situations.
During the supervision, community members took the opportunity to request specific attention, such as intervention in alleys, the management of noise pollution, and the removal of abandoned vehicles, issues that were integrated into the work agenda of the institutions present.
Community recognition
Neighborhood representatives have validated the positive impact of the measures implemented so far. Pastor Apolinar Rodríguez, a community leader, emphasized the reduction in crime rates in the area, describing the authorities’ work as a firm step toward restoring peace in the sector.
The follow-up session included the participation of delegates from the Ministry of Environment, EDEESTE, the National Police, and the Auxiliary Police, reaffirming the inter-institutional commitment to maintain an active presence in the territory until the desired security goal is achieved.
