Faride Raful appears in court for lawsuit against Ángel Martínez
The Minister of Interior and Police, Faride Raful, appeared this Tuesday before the Second Criminal Chamber of the National District to continue the judicial process for defamation and slander that she is maintaining against Ángel Martínez. The hearing, which had been previously postponed, seeks to define the legal course of this controversy, after a period was granted for the involved parties to evaluate a possible conciliation.
Both the official and the defendant are present in the courtroom, waiting to know if any out-of-court settlement has been reached or if, on the contrary, the litigation will proceed to the next stages of the ordinary proceedings.

Within the framework of this legal action, Minister Raful, represented by lawyer Miguel Valerio, has formally requested compensation of RD$50 million. This figure corresponds to the damages that, according to the plaintiff, were caused by the statements issued by Martínez, which have been classified as defamatory and injurious.
