Tragedy in Jamao al Norte: 12-year-old minor drowns in the Los Peña river
A day that was supposed to be for family recreation ended in tragedy this Sunday in the municipality of Jamao al Norte, after the death of a 12-year-old minor by drowning in the waters of the Los Peña river, located in the community of Los Brazos.
The victim, identified as Javier Parra Martínez, who resided in the El Abanico community in Veragua, lost his life while enjoying the tributary in the company of his loved ones. According to preliminary reports, the minor experienced unexpected difficulties in the water, which led to the fatal outcome.
Ongoing research
Following the discovery of the lifeless body, the minor was transferred to the Municipal Hospital morgue. Currently, the body remains in the custody of the authorities pending the corresponding legal and medical procedures, which will allow for the exact determination of the causes of death and clarify the details of the incident.
The competent authorities arrived at the scene to begin the necessary investigations and gather information to determine how this unfortunate event, which has shocked the community of Los Brazos, occurred.
