Rains persist in the Dominican Republic due to remnants of Dolly
Weather conditions in the Dominican Republic continue to be affected by moisture and cloud remnants left by what was Tropical Storm Dolly. According to reports from the Dominican Institute of Meteorology (INDOMET), the rainfall that affected the country during the early morning hours will continue throughout the early hours of this Tuesday.
Although the phenomenon has lost strength significantly, atmospheric instability persists, creating a scenario conducive to downpours accompanied by thunderstorms and wind gusts in various parts of the national territory.
Areas under weather alert and warning
Forecaster Damaris Mercedes detailed that the rains will be concentrated with greater intensity in the provinces near the Caribbean coastal shoreline. Given this outlook, the authorities have established prevention levels to safeguard the population:
- Weather warning: Greater Santo Domingo, San Cristóbal and Monte Plata.
- Weather alert: San Pedro de Macorís, La Romana, Samaná and Peravia, among other locations under surveillance.
The remaining moisture from Dolly will continue to affect different areas of the country during the early morning and morning of this Tuesday, so citizens are advised to stay attentive to official bulletins and take the necessary precautions against possible urban flooding.
