DINTEL operations in La Vega result in seizures and arrests

Agents of the Regional Sub-directorate of Intelligence (DINTEL) of the National Police carried out a series of strategic operations in the Rincón sector, La Vega province, with the aim of strengthening citizen security and combating micro-trafficking in the area. These actions resulted in the seizure of illicit substances, weapons, and the impounding of several vehicles.

Seizure details

During the interventions, the uniformed officers managed to seize various items that are presumed to be used for illicit activities. Among the evidence collected are:

  • 11 portions of a vegetable, presumably marijuana.
  • One portion of a white powder, presumably cocaine.
  • Two scales used for weighing drugs.
  • A bladed weapon, machete type.
  • Cash valued at RD$395.00.
  • Five motorcycles seized for verification purposes.

Illegal possession of a firearm

In a parallel action carried out in the same sector, authorities arrested 26-year-old Yeldry Boya Gil. At the time of the intervention, a silver and black Versa brand 9-millimeter pistol was confiscated from him, equipped with its magazine and one round. The individual did not present the required legal documentation for carrying the weapon.

The individuals detained during these operations, along with the seized evidence, were placed in the custody of the Public Prosecutor’s Office for the corresponding legal proceedings.

With these actions, the authorities of La Vega reaffirm their commitment to maintaining order and security in vulnerable sectors, intensifying surveillance to prevent the commission of crimes.
