David Collado leads internal PRM preferences heading into 2028

The internal political landscape of the Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM) is beginning to be clearly defined ahead of the 2028 presidential elections. According to the most recent results of the survey conducted by ACDmedia, the current Minister of Tourism, David Collado, is positioned as the undisputed favorite to head the ruling party’s electoral ticket.

The poll, presented this Monday, August 17, reveals that a resounding 59.9% of the PRM members consulted would choose Collado as their presidential candidate if the internal selection process were held at this moment. This support places him significantly above other prominent figures within the party.

Internal preference scenario

The measurement details how support is distributed among the potential candidates of the political group. Following Collado’s leadership, the preference structure is organized as follows:

  • Carolina Mejía: 20%
  • Raquel Peña: 6.5%
  • Guido Gómez Mazara: 3.7%
  • Wellington Arnaud: 2.8%

The results reflect the level of support that Collado currently registers within the ranks of the PRM, less than two years before the political organization must formally define its presidential candidacy for the May 2028 elections.

Consolidation and valuations

The study, corresponding to the thirtieth installment by the firm ACDmedia, was conducted between August 8 and 11. Beyond electoral preferences, the research highlights that David Collado continues to consolidate his position as one of the officials with the highest level of recognition and best approval ratings among the Dominican population.

It is important to highlight that, although these figures offer an accurate snapshot of the current sentiment within the PRM, the political landscape remains dynamic. The positioning of the candidates could experience variations as the key dates for the official selection of the candidacy approach, a process that will be decisive for the future of the party in the 2028 elections.
