The community of La Compuerta, in Mao, Valverde, is plunged into deep sorrow following the tragedy that claimed the lives of five members of the same family during the early hours of this Tuesday. The remains of the victims are being waked amidst scenes of heartbreak by neighbors, friends, and loved ones who have gathered to bid their final farewell.
The accident, which has left the entire province in mourning, resulted in the death of Yudelca del Carmen Goris Estévez, 32; Juan Féliz Ventura, 34, and their three minor daughters, whose ages were 9 years, 5 years, and eight months respectively.

The fire was reported at approximately 2:31 a.m. Upon receiving the emergency call, the fire department immediately moved to the La Compuerta sector, finding the residence consumed by flames. After intense efforts to extinguish the fire, rescue agencies located the bodies inside the structure, which was completely destroyed.
