Carolina Mejía consolidates her presidential project with key support in Monte Plata
Carolina Mejía’s political project continues to gain ground in the Monte Plata province, where key figures of the Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM) have officially endorsed her presidential aspirations. This strategic alignment strengthens the leader’s structure ahead of the ruling party’s upcoming internal processes.
A heavyweight team for the primaries
Among the local leaders who have decided to join Mejía’s vision are figures with deep roots in the area, highlighting the presence of deputy Román de Jesús and former senator Lenín Valdez. Likewise, the project has the support of governor Rafaela Javier, the historic leader Altagracia Herrera, popularly known as “La Mayimba,” and the influential politician Sergio Brito.
This tactical move was formalized after a key meeting led by Carolina Mejía herself and Senator Ricardo de los Santos, who serves as the national coordinator of her campaign. The meeting served to consolidate the union of these structures under a single electoral objective.
The integration of these leaderships is fundamental to expand our territorial presence and ensure the solid support of the PRM grassroots throughout the country with a view to the 2028 elections.

National growth strategy
In addition to this support in Monte Plata, the presidential candidate has the backing of prominent national leaders, including:
- Ricardo de los Santos
- Eligio Jáquez
- Jesús Vásquez
- Geanilda Vásquez
- Manuel Jiménez
With these actions, Mejía’s team reaffirms its commitment to territorial work and party unity. The candidate has reiterated that her proposal is designed to compete successfully in both the PRM primaries and the 2028 national race, betting on renewal and the integration of new leadership to strengthen the vision of government she proposes for the Dominican Republic.
