Crisis in Nigeria: Mass abduction of students in Borno State
The international community is on alert following a recent terrorist attack in northeastern Nigeria. According to reports confirmed by local security authorities, at least 30 students were kidnapped this Friday during a violent raid on an educational center in Borno state.
The incident occurred at the Mussa primary and secondary school, located in the Askira-Uba area. According to reports, a group consisting of approximately 50 armed men stormed the facilities during school hours, firing indiscriminately and sowing panic among those present.

Attack details and security response
Eyewitnesses, who preferred to remain anonymous for security reasons, reported that the attackers maintained the siege for several hours. State police spokesperson Nahum Daso confirmed that security forces are deployed in the area to assess the true scale of the event and coordinate rescue efforts.
The Mussa region is a critical point due to its proximity to the Sambisa Forest, an area known for serving as a stronghold for insurgent groups in the country. The attack has been preliminarily attributed to members of Boko Haram, an organization that has maintained an active presence in northeastern Nigeria since 2009.
A persistent insecurity problem
