Government projects road expansion in Bávaro to boost tourism
With the goal of optimizing mobility in the country’s most important tourist hub, the Dominican government has announced a plan to expand a 12-kilometer stretch of the Bávaro Boulevard to four lanes. This initiative seeks to respond to the notable urban growth and the constant expansion of hotel infrastructure in the Eastern region.
The information was detailed during the second edition of Weekly Agenda, a space led by President Luis Abinader where the progress and planning of the most relevant infrastructure works at the national level are presented.
Strategic infrastructure for the East zone
The intervention on the Bávaro Boulevard is not an isolated project, but part of a comprehensive road connectivity scheme designed to streamline vehicle flow in one of the areas with the greatest economic dynamism. In this sense, other complementary projects were highlighted that seek to facilitate the transport of workers who travel daily to the tourist centers of Bávaro and Punta Cana.

These works respond directly to the increase in vehicular flow and the need to modernize access roads in light of the expansion of hotel capacity in the east of the country.
