Banreservas boosts the tourism development of Punta Bergantín with strategic financing
Banco de Reservas has reaffirmed its commitment to the economic growth of the Northern region by announcing decisive financial support for the developers and investors who have committed to the ambitious Punta Bergantín project. This initiative, located in Puerto Plata, is beginning to consolidate itself as a fundamental pillar for the tourism and economic transformation of the Cibao region.
During the launch of the Hacienda Serena villas and the Velavento apartments, the bank’s executive president highlighted that the destination has ceased to be a future vision to become a tangible reality, backed by the confidence of the private sector and a remarkable capacity for execution.
Today we are no longer talking only about future plans or projects. Hacienda Serena and the apartments are a sign of the confidence, the execution capacity, and the determination of the private sector to bet on this new destination.

Flexibility and investor support
One of the most notable aspects of the intervention was the evolution in the institution’s financing policy. As reported, the bank has made its credit mechanisms more flexible to adapt to the specific needs of each investor, evaluating key factors such as repayment capacity and the development potential of each proposal.
The goal is to break with the traditional schemes that historically limited access to capital, allowing entrepreneurs with viable projects to materialize their investments. As an example, the entity’s willingness to support large-scale projects was mentioned, reaffirming that the bank acts as a strategic ally beyond being a simple provider of funds.
Opportunities in the new tourist hub
- Regional boost: Punta Bergantín seeks to connect the tourism development of Puerto Plata with Santiago and other strategic points of the Cibao region.
- Value generation: Investment in projects such as Hacienda Serena and Velavento represents an opportunity to participate in the beginning of a destination destined to create jobs and attract foreign capital.
- Constant support: The financial institution’s technical teams are available to interested parties to offer advice on the financing alternatives available.
With the backing of government authorities and the coordinated work of project managers, Punta Bergantín is emerging as the epicenter of a new era for Dominican tourism, where private investment and institutional support converge to boost national development.
