Culture Ministry announces the Santo Domingo International Book Fair 2026: José Mármol will be the honoree
The Minister of Culture, Roberto Ángel Salcedo, has made official the celebration of the twenty-eighth edition of the Santo Domingo International Book Fair 2026. This major cultural event will feature the prominent writer, poet, essayist, and philosopher José Mármol as the honored author, while Panama has been selected as the guest country of honor.
During the announcement, Salcedo described the recognition of Mármol as an act of justice for his prolific and brilliant career in Dominican literature. The official stressed that the dedication comes at an ideal time to exalt the author’s career, who will have an active role during the event.
Everyone is duly invited to learn up close about the life and work of José Mármol through an exclusive pavilion, where the writer himself will offer guided tours to the attending public.
