DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Connor Zilisch, visibly emotional, took a moment to compose himself before wiping away tears, marking an emotional announcement at the Daytona International Speedway. The 19-year-old driver, with seven victories in NASCAR’s Xfinity series, was confirmed to compete in the Cup in 2026. This announcement, although expected, generated great anticipation.

We are here to surprise the world with an announcement that nobody expected.

Justin Marks, owner of Trackhouse Racing
Marks revealed that Zilisch signed a multi-year contract to compete full-time with Trackhouse next year. Zilisch will take Daniel Suarez’s place in a yet-to-be-numbered Chevrolet and will join Ross Chastain and Shane van Gisbergen in Marks’ three-car team.

I never thought I would get anywhere in racing. My parents have supported me from day one, in every moment, the good and the bad.

Connor Zilisch
Zilisch, who competed in karting from childhood, turned professional in 2021. Since then, he has accumulated successes in various series, including victories in the 24 Hours of Rolex and the 12 Hours of Sebring in 2024, as well as five ARCA races and two poles in the NASCAR Truck Series. Currently, he leads the Xfinity series points standings and has proven his worth with JR Motorsports, with eight wins in 27 races and 12 consecutive top-five finishes. Zilisch, who recently fractured his clavicle, was authorized to compete in Daytona, showing a remarkable recovery.

Connor is an exceptional talent who comes along every few decades.

Justin Marks
Marks anticipates announcing the car number, sponsorship, crew chief, and Zilisch’s crew lineup in the coming weeks.
