Shane van Gisbergen Secures His Future with Trackhouse Racing
Driver Shane van Gisbergen has signed a multi-year contract extension with Trackhouse Racing, after qualifying for the NASCAR Cup Series playoffs in his rookie season. The team announced this Friday that the native of Auckland, New Zealand, will continue “for many years.” The specific terms of the agreement were not disclosed. With notable victories from the pole position in Mexico City, Chicago, and Sonoma Raceway, van Gisbergen has secured fourth place in the 2025 playoffs, with three races remaining in the regular season.After winning three championships in Australia’s Supercars series, van Gisbergen was hired by Trackhouse two years ago as part of its Project 91 program, designed to highlight international drivers in NASCAR’s premier series. In the inaugural Chicago Street race in July 2023, van Gisbergen became the first driver to win in his Cup debut since Johnny Rutherford in 1963. Van Gisbergen moved to NASCAR last year and made the Xfinity Series playoffs with two wins for Kaulig Racing. This year, he moved up to the Cup with Trackhouse in the No. 88 Chevrolet and became the foreign-born driver with the most wins in NASCAR history. In Sunday’s race at Watkins Glen International, van Gisbergen will look to join Chase Elliott and Jeff Gordon as the only drivers with four consecutive wins on road or street circuits.I feel like Trackhouse Racing is my home.

The driver of the No. 1 Chevrolet, Ross Chastain, and van Gisbergen are under contract for 2026, but Trackhouse has not yet announced who will drive its third car, as Daniel Suárez will leave the No. 99 Chevrolet at the end of the season.
