Chicago Street Race Takes a Break in 2026, but Plans to Return

The exciting Chicago street race will not be part of the NASCAR schedule in 2026, organizers announced this Friday. However, speed and adrenaline enthusiasts can breathe easy. NASCAR authorities and city officials are working together to ensure the return of the competition to the “Windy City” in 2027.

“Following the success of the first three years, the Chicago Street Race will take a break in 2026 to give us the time needed to collaborate with the City of Chicago and explore a potential new date, and develop a plan that further optimizes operational efficiency, with the aim of returning to the streets of Chicago in 2027,” was published on the event’s social media account on X.
