NASCAR driver Joey Logano is looking forward to the end of August, as it marks the start of the NASCAR Cup Series playoffs, his favorite time of the year. Logano, who has won three Cup Series championships, including one in 2018, another in 2022 and the most recent one last year, shares his perspective on this crucial period.

It’s the most exhausting time, perhaps the most unpleasant of the year, but also the one that brings the greatest reward and the opportunity to show what you and your team are made of.

In the elimination era (2014-present), Logano shares the record for appearances in the Round of 8 and leads in appearances in the Championship 4. In addition, he is the active driver with the most playoff wins (15). Logano defends the playoff format, arguing that it adds excitement to the competition.

I think it’s very exciting. You can’t have a moment like the Super Bowl without a unique and decisive race, and that’s what we have now.
