Brad Keselowski Suffers Injury in Skiing Accident, But Aims for Daytona 500
NASCAR driver and RFK Racing co-owner Brad Keselowski suffered a leg fracture in a skiing accident, the team announced on Friday. Keselowski, who is also a former series champion, underwent surgery on Thursday.
Doctors have indicated to Keselowski that he is expected to make a quick recovery, which would allow him to compete in the Daytona 500, which marks the start of the season in February. Despite his 16 participations in this emblematic race, he has not yet achieved victory. This mishap occurs while he is in the final years of his career as a driver.
Life has a way of reminding you to slow down. Grateful for my family by my side, an excellent medical team, and the ability to take some steps forward today. Focused on Daytona. Bonus: I’m bionic now!

Keselowski, who will turn 42 a few days before the “Great American Race” on February 15th, faces his 17th season in the top category of the Cup. After a long career at Team Penske, he acquired a stake in Roush Fenway Racing in 2022, becoming the owner and driver of the renamed team.
The organization is also shocked by Thursday’s tragic plane crash, which claimed the life of veteran Roush pilot Greg Biffle and six other people, including his wife and two children. Biffle had already retired when Keselowski joined the team.
Keselowski won the Cup championship in 2012 for Penske and has 36 wins in NASCAR’s top category. In addition, he won the Xfinity Series title in 2010 and has won 39 races in NASCAR’s second-tier series. Since leaving Penske, he has achieved one victory in points-paying races, while working to rebuild RFK into the organization once founded by Hall of Fame team owner Jack Roush.
NASCAR’s most popular driver, Chase Elliott, missed six races in the 2023 season due to a leg fracture suffered in a snowboarding accident early in the season. Kyle Busch also missed 11 races after breaking his leg in a crash at Daytona in 2015, but recovered to win the Cup championship that year.
