The Kaulig Racing team has made the decision to terminate the contract of NASCAR Xfinity Series driver Josh Williams after less than two years of collaboration. Williams, 31 years old, was behind the wheel of the No. 11 Chevrolet from the start of the 2024 season, achieving six top 10 finishes in 54 races.
Of those six results in the top ten, only two have been achieved in the 21 races this season. Williams obtained seventh place in Rockingham on April 19 and sixth in Charlotte on May 24. In the last race in Indianapolis, he finished in 22nd position.
Williams has participated in 231 Xfinity Series races in the last 10 years, without achieving any victories. Previously, he competed for DGM Racing, B.J. McLeod Motorsports, King Autosport and Jimmy Means Racing. Kaulig Racing announced that it will use several drivers in the No. 11 car for the remaining 12 races of the Xfinity schedule, which continues this Saturday at Iowa Speedway. The first of them is Carson Hocevar, who will drive the No. 11 Chevrolet in the HyVee Perks 250. Hocevar, 22, competes in the NASCAR Cup Series for Spire Motorsports. This will be only his seventh participation in the Xfinity Series.As many of you have seen, Kaulig Racing has made the decision to release me for the rest of the season. This has been a difficult day for my family, friends, long-time partners, and fans, whom I cannot thank enough for being by my side throughout all of this. We will be back soon and look forward to a much brighter chapter in my racing career. I wish the best to my guys on the 11 team.
