Kaulig Racing announced the release of Josh Williams from his contract as a NASCAR Xfinity Series driver, after less than two years of collaboration. Williams, 31 years old, was at the wheel of the No. 11 Chevrolet from the start of the 2024 season, achieving six top-ten finishes in 54 races.
Of those six top 10s, only two were recorded in the 21 races this season. Williams got seventh place in Rockingham on April 19 and sixth in Charlotte on May 24. In last weekend’s race in Indianapolis, he finished in 22nd position.
Williams has participated in 231 Xfinity Series races during the last 10 years, without achieving victories. Previously, he competed for DGM Racing, B.J. McLeod Motorsports, King Autosport and Jimmy Means Racing. Kaulig Racing announced that it will use multiple drivers in the No. 11 for the remaining 12 races of the Xfinity schedule, which continues this Saturday at Iowa Speedway. The first of them will be Carson Hocevar, who will drive the No. 11 Chevrolet in the HyVee Perks 250. Hocevar, 22, competes in the NASCAR Cup Series for Spire Motorsports. This will be only his seventh participation in the Xfinity Series. As most of you have seen, Kaulig Racing has made the decision to release me for the rest of the season. This has been a difficult day for my family, friends, long-time partners, and fans, whom I cannot thank enough for being by my side throughout this. We will be back soon and look forward to a much brighter chapter in my racing career. I wish nothing but the best for my guys on the 11 team.
Josh Williams
I love to run, anywhere, anytime, so when they asked me to drive the Kaulig Xfinity car in Iowa, I jumped at the opportunity. I am grateful to the Kaulig Racing team for believing in me and to Jeff Dickerson and my Spire team for allowing me to have fun with the 11 team this weekend. I promise to make the most of it.
