The renowned NASCAR driver, Denny Hamlin, has formalized a multi-year contract extension with Joe Gibbs Racing, as announced by the team this Friday. The specific details of the agreement were not disclosed. This announcement comes in a standout week for Hamlin, who achieved his 58th Cup victory at Dover, solidifying his position at 11th in the historical ranking of victories. His impressive career includes three wins in the Daytona 500, three in the Southern 500, and one in the Coca-Cola 600. Hamlin will seek to add another triumph to his record in the prestigious Brickyard 400, which will be held on Sunday at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. In the current season, Hamlin is in fourth place in the overall standings. He has participated in all 706 Cup races with JGR, being the longest-tenured driver on the team. In addition, he has 244 top-five finishes, 369 top-ten finishes, and 44 poles.Joe and everyone at JGR are like family to me and have done so much for me over the last 20 years. We’ve had a good start to the season and welcomed great new partners this year, so there are a lot of exciting things happening with our team, not only now, but also in the future.

Hamlin also co-owns the NASCAR team 23XI Racing, along with NBA Hall of Famer Michael Jordan. The team is currently in a legal dispute to maintain its position in the series.I really appreciate Denny and everything he has meant to our organization. It’s really special when you think about everything we’ve experienced over the last 20 years, from that first moment when J.D. Gibbs recognized his talent in a test session, to now. It’s remarkable in any sport to compete at the level Denny has for so long and we are thrilled that he has been able to spend his entire career with us.

Last week, U.S. District Judge Kenneth Bell rejected a request from Front Row Motorsports and 23XI Racing for a temporary restraining order to prevent Cup officials from revoking their positions. This means that the six cars owned by those teams will compete as open entries this weekend and possibly longer.
The Hamlin team has three drivers: Bubba Wallace, Riley Herbst, and Tyler Reddick.
