Stewart Friesen Suffers Fractures After Race Accident

NASCAR Truck Series driver Stewart Friesen suffered pelvis and leg fractures after a serious accident during a race. The news was confirmed by his wife via social media, who also reported that, fortunately, Friesen has avoided head, neck, and spine injuries. The incident occurred on Monday night at the Autodrome Drummond in Drummondville, Quebec, during the Super DIRTcar Series King of the North race.

Stewart is suffering from an unstable/open-book pelvic fracture, which means his pelvis is broken in two or more places, with a large hematoma in the area. Stewart also has a fracture in his right leg.

A scanner revealed that there was no damage to the head, neck, or spine. The video of the accident shows Friesen’s vehicle impacting an exterior wall, overturning, and catching fire. The driver was hit by another truck before his vehicle came to a stop on its wheels. Jessica Friesen thanked the track team for their attention and care in getting her husband out of the vehicle. Stewart Friesen is expected to be transferred to a hospital in New York on Wednesday, where he will undergo multiple surgeries. Jessica Friesen expressed her gratitude to the hospital staff in Trois-Rivières, Quebec, for the excellent care, and to the members of the racing community who have helped facilitate Stewart’s transfer closer to home. She also highlighted the overwhelming support from the racing family.
