Byron and Larson to the NASCAR final: The contenders defined!

William Byron Wins at Martinsville and Advances to the Championship 4

In an exciting race at Martinsville Speedway, William Byron secured his place in the NASCAR Cup Series Championship 4, surpassing Ryan Blaney on the final lap. With this victory, Byron demonstrated his determination and skill on the track. Byron, driving the No. 24 Chevrolet, made a decisive move in turn 1, touching Blaney on the left rear and driving his way to victory. He led most of the race, with a total of 304 laps out of 500, securing his third win of the season and the first in a playoff elimination race.

Ryan Blaney, who also needed the victory to advance, finished second, despite leading 177 laps. Despite the disappointment, Blaney congratulated Byron on his performance.

Kyle Larson, Byron’s teammate at Hendrick Motorsports, secured the final spot in the Championship 4 with a fourth-place finish, surpassing Christopher Bell by seven points. Denny Hamlin and Chase Briscoe also qualified for the final round, despite suffering mechanical problems during the race. The final will be held at Phoenix Raceway on November 2, where the champion will be the driver with the best result of the four finalists.
