In an exciting race at Martinsville Speedway, William Byron took the victory, securing his place in the NASCAR Cup Series Championship 4.

Byron Dominates in Martinsville

Byron, at the wheel of his Chevrolet No. 24, demonstrated his skill by overtaking Ryan Blaney on lap 43, securing the lead position and dominating the race with 304 laps led out of a total of 500. This victory marks his third of the season and the 16th of his career.

The triumph at Martinsville represents Byron’s first victory in a playoff elimination race and his third at this circuit. The race was also crucial for Ryan Blaney, who was looking to secure his spot in the final round. Despite leading 177 laps and finishing in second place, Blaney did not achieve the victory needed to advance.
William Byron led the final 43 laps to win at Martinsville Speedway, securing third place in the Championship 4. The final NASCAR Cup title contender will be Kyle Larson, who advanced on points and will join Byron, Denny Hamlin, and Ryan Briscoe.Kyle Larson, Byron’s teammate at Hendrick Motorsports, secured the final qualifying spot for the final, finishing in fourth place and surpassing Christopher Bell by seven points. In the final round, Byron and Larson will face Denny Hamlin and Chase Briscoe at Phoenix Raceway on November 2. Both Hamlin and Briscoe suffered engine problems during Sunday’s race. Hamlin, who had won in Las Vegas to advance to the final, had to retire on lap 334 due to an engine failure. Briscoe finished last after his No. 19 Toyota lost power after 295 laps, but had already secured a place in the Championship 4 with his victory at Talladega Superspeedway on October 19.
