In an exciting race at Martinsville Speedway, William Byron achieved a crucial victory that grants him a place in the Championship 4 of the NASCAR Cup Series. Byron, driving the No. 24 Chevrolet for Hendrick Motorsports, pulled off a spectacular maneuver in turn 1, bumping Ryan Blaney and securing first place with 43 laps remaining.

Byron led most of the race, with a total of 304 laps out of 500, achieving his third win of the season and the sixteenth of his Cup career. This victory marks a milestone for Byron, being his first in a playoff elimination race and his third at Martinsville. Blaney, who also needed the win to advance, finished second after an intense battle on the track.
