Chase Briscoe Secures Pole Position in Michigan
BROOKLYN, Mich. – Chase Briscoe, driving the number 19 Toyota for Joe Gibbs Racing, secured his third consecutive pole position and fourth of the year in NASCAR, a notable achievement at Michigan International Speedway this Saturday.Briscoe completed a lap at 195.514 mph during qualifying on the 2-mile oval, marking the fastest lap in a Cup Series pole position since Ryan Blaney exceeded 200 mph in Texas in 2018.
The driver is seeking his first victory of the year, after having achieved five results among the top five positions, and what would be his third victory in his career.
Kyle Busch, in the number 8 Chevrolet, qualified second for the FireKeepers Casino 400 race to be held on Sunday. Denny Hamlin, with the number 11 Toyota, qualified third, while William Byron, points leader with the number 24 Chevrolet, took fourth place. The defending race champion, Tyler Reddick, in the number 45 Toyota, will start from the 12th position for 23XI Racing, a team that is currently in a legal dispute with NASCAR.It will be fantastic to start at the front, something we have achieved for three weeks in a row, but we haven’t managed to make it happen with that. Let’s hope the third time’s the charm.
