Chase Briscoe Dominates Qualifying in Michigan, Securing His Third Consecutive Pole

In an impressive display of speed and consistency, Chase Briscoe secured the pole position at Michigan International Speedway this Saturday. The driver, behind the wheel of the Toyota No. 19 for Joe Gibbs Racing, achieved his third consecutive pole and the fourth of the season, leading the starting grid for the upcoming race. Briscoe set a lap time of 195.514 mph on the 2-mile oval, establishing one of the fastest qualifying speeds in the Cup Series. This speed is only surpassed by Ryan Blaney’s mark in Texas in 2018, when he exceeded 200 mph.

It will be good to start at the front, and we’ve been able to do that now for three weeks in a row, but we haven’t been able to execute with that. So, hopefully, the third time’s the charm.

Briscoe will seek his first victory of the year, having achieved five top-five finishes. The driver is looking for his third career victory. Kyle Busch, aboard the No. 8 Chevrolet, secured the second place on the grid for Sunday’s FireKeepers Casino 400. Denny Hamlin, in the No. 11 Toyota, qualified third, followed by points leader William Byron in the No. 24 Chevrolet, who will start fourth. The defending champion of the race, Tyler Reddick, with the No. 45 Toyota, will start from the twelfth position.
