Kamaru Usman vs. Joaquin Buckley to Headline UFC Fight Night in Atlanta

Former welterweight champion Kamaru Usman will face rising star Joaquin Buckley on June 14 in Atlanta, according to UFC CEO Dana White.

Usman (20-4) returns to the octagon after his majority decision loss to Khamzat Chimaev in October 2023. In that fight, Usman agreed to fight on short notice and in a higher weight class. Now, he will return to his natural division for this five-round bout, which will be the main event of UFC Fight Night at the State Farm Arena.

Buckley (21-6) looks to solidify his position for a welterweight title opportunity. The former middleweight champion has a perfect 6-0 record since dropping to welterweight in 2023, and is coming off a TKO victory over former interim champion Colby Covington in December.

Usman and Buckley are ranked as numbers 4 and 6 respectively in the UFC welterweight rankings.

In addition, a flyweight bout between former strawweight champion Rose Namajunas and Miranda Maverick has been confirmed to be the co-main event of UFC Fight Night.
