Patchy Mix Leaves UFC and Signs with RIZIN
Bellator MMA’s former champion, Patchy Mix, has been released by the UFC, ending his time with the promotion less than a year after his debut. Mix (20-3) has already signed to face Kyoma Akimoto (11-1) on March 6th at RIZIN 52, which will be held in Japan. After winning the Bellator title in 2023, Mix debuted in the UFC in June, but suffered two consecutive losses to Mario Bautista and Jakub Wiklacz, resulting in his release. His next fight will be in the featherweight category, leaving behind the bantamweight.Mix has victories over notable names outside of the UFC, including Sergio Pettis, Magomed Magomedov, and Kyoji Horiguchi. Mix and his fiancée, UFC strawweight contender Tatiana Suarez, train in Las Vegas. After my last fight, I waited about five or six weeks, and then my team informed me that I would be released. I started looking and thinking about what I wanted to do with my career. The main thing was to move up to featherweight and reinvent myself. I want to show Patchy 2.0. I haven’t had fun in a long time because I’ve been cutting a lot of weight.
