Bryan Battle is Released by UFC After Missing Weight
Fighter Bryan Battle, winner of the reality show “The Ultimate Fighter”, has been released by the UFC after failing to make weight on two consecutive occasions.
Battle, 30, and originally from North Carolina, was scheduled to face Nursulton Ruziboev at UFC 319 last weekend in Chicago. However, the fight was canceled because Battle did not make the 186-pound weight limit in the middleweight category, exceeding it by four pounds.
This incident adds to another one in December, where Battle also failed to make weight for a fight in the welterweight division.
The UFC confirmed Battle’s release on Wednesday.
Battle was crowned middleweight tournament champion in season 29 of “The Ultimate Fighter” in 2021, accumulating a 7-1 record in the UFC. In addition to weight issues, he also exceeded the limit in a fight against Gabe Green in May 2023.
