UFC Comes to the White House: A Historic Event on the Horizon

The world of mixed martial arts (MMA) is preparing for an unprecedented event. According to the announcement by former President Donald Trump, the UFC will hold a live event at the White House on June 14th. Trump revealed the date during a speech last Sunday in Norfolk, Virginia, coinciding with his 80th birthday. “On June 14th of next year, we will have a big UFC fight at the White House, right on the grounds of the White House,” he declared. Although the UFC has not yet made any official announcement, the event is expected to take place in the South Garden, as part of the celebration of the 250th anniversary of the Independence of the United States.

UFC CEO Dana White has provided details about the event, including official weigh-ins at the Lincoln Memorial. In addition, it is estimated that just replacing the White House lawn after the event will cost $700,000. White has also mentioned that the fighters will walk towards the octagon from the Oval Office. However, the UFC will not begin booking fights for the event until the first quarter of 2026. Interest in this event is high, with names like Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler expressing their desire to participate. Also Jon Jones, who retired this year, has expressed interest in returning for this special occasion.
