Last-minute change in the UFC Fight Night main event

The main card of UFC Fight Night at the Apex in Las Vegas has undergone last-minute changes. Flyweight contender Tatsuro Taira will face a new opponent this Saturday: HyunSung Park, as announced on Monday.

Taira, with a record of 16-1, was originally scheduled to fight Amir Albazi in a five-round main event. However, Albazi was forced to withdraw for undisclosed reasons.

Park (10-0) was scheduled to fight Steve Erceg on August 9, but will now compete a week earlier in the main event on Saturday.

Taira, from Japan, currently holds the number 6 spot in the UFC flyweight rankings. He is coming off the first loss of his career, a split decision defeat to Brandon Royval in October.

Park, for his part, arrived in the UFC in 2023 and has finished three consecutive opponents inside the octagon. In addition, he has managed to finish his last seven fights, since 2018.
