Baisangur Susurkaev Debuts at UFC 319 After a Convincing Victory in Contender Series
The talented fighter Baisangur Susurkaev, after securing his contract in the Contender Series, already has his debut scheduled in the UFC. Susurkaev will face Eric Nolan at the UFC 319 event, which will take place on Saturday in Chicago.
Susurkaev, with an undefeated record of 9-0, will face Nolan (8-3) in the preliminary card of the event at the United Center. The 24-year-old achieved a knockout in the first round in the Contender Series, earning him praise from UFC CEO Dana White.
White promised to schedule Susurkaev’s debut in the Octagon as soon as possible, and he delivered by offering him a fight in less than 24 hours.
This rapid debut marks a milestone in the history of the Contender Series, being the shortest time for a fighter from this program to debut in the UFC.
The addition of Susurkaev to the event was made possible after the cancellation of the lightweight fight between King Green and Diego Ferreira, which will be rescheduled.
Susurkaev, originally from Chechnya, joins the UFC 319 card, which will also feature his compatriot Khamzat Chimaev, who will seek his first championship against Dricus Du Plessis in the main event.
In his career, Susurkaev has achieved seven first-round finishes. His opponent, Nolan, will also be making his UFC debut, arriving with a four-fight winning streak, including knockouts in his last three fights.
