Sean Strickland Indefinitely Suspended After Altercation at MMA Event

UFC’s former middleweight champion, Sean Strickland, is indefinitely suspended following an incident at an MMA event held in Las Vegas last June.

The Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) made the decision to suspend Strickland, 34, due to his involvement in the altercation. It is a common practice to suspend athletes or their licensed coaches until an official sanction is determined at a disciplinary hearing.

Strickland’s case was scheduled to be discussed at the commission’s monthly meeting on Wednesday, but it was decided to postpone the hearing to a later date.

The incident took place at a Tuff-N-Uff event on June 29th in Las Vegas. Strickland entered the cage after his trained fighter, Miles Hunsinger, suffered a submission loss to Luis Hernandez.

Immediately after the victory, Hernandez provoked Hunsinger’s corner, which caused a reaction from Strickland and UFC fighter Chris Curtis as well. A video captured Strickland throwing several punches at Hernandez.

It is very likely that the UFC will not announce any fight for Strickland until this matter is resolved. His last fight was in February, where he failed to regain the 185-pound championship against Dricus Du Plessis.
