Revealed Fight Card for Jake Paul vs. Anthony Joshua

Most Valuable Promotions has unveiled the preliminary fights for the Jake Paul vs. Anthony Joshua event, scheduled for December 19th at the Kaseya Center in Miami, which will be broadcast live on Netflix. The card largely maintains the structure originally planned for Paul’s match with Gervonta Davis. The co-main event will remain the unified super featherweight title defense of Alycia Baumgardner against Leila Beaudoin. However, a significant change has occurred: Anderson Silva will not face Chris Weidman in the initial fight of the main card. Instead, Tyron Woodley, also a former UFC champion, will step into the ring to face Silva in a six-round cruiserweight bout. Both Silva and Woodley have suffered defeats against Jake Paul in the past. Silva lost by unanimous decision to Paul in 2022, while Woodley lost both fights against “The Problem Child”, one by split decision in August 2021 and the other by knockout in the rematch in December of the same year.

I believe that changes always happen for a reason. I am focused on doing a good job, always respecting my opponent and showing total respect for the world of boxing.

Anderson Silva
Weidman was forced to withdraw from the fight against Silva due to an injury. Woodley, who held the UFC welterweight title from 2016 to 2019, will seek his first boxing victory against one of the most prominent champions in MMA history.

Facing occasions like this are the moments when legends are born.

In the preliminary card, Cherneka “Sugar Neekz” Johnson will defend her undisputed bantamweight title against Amanda Galle, Yokasta Valle will put her WBC strawweight world title on the line against Yadira Bustillos, and Avious Griffin will face Justin Cardona in a welterweight bout. Keno Marley, a two-time Brazilian Olympian, will make his professional debut in a four-round cruiserweight bout against Diarra Davis. The WBA super lightweight title fight between champion Gary Antuanne Russell and Andy Hiraoka is no longer part of the card. Anderson Silva vs. Tyron Woodley is an iconic matchup, which continues to elevate the Jake vs. Joshua: Judgment Day event to one of the most exciting combat sports events of the decade. This is the gladiatorial sports spectacle of the 21st century. A main event that has involved the entire world. Bringing back two of the MMA GOATs to the spotlight on a global stage, live on Netflix, reflects the magnitude of this card. Alycia Baumgardner making a defense of the unified 12×3:00 title in the co-main event and joining Amanda Serrano in the history books with this declaration of equality, and a card packed with champions with Cherneka Johnson, Yokasta Valle, and more, Friday, December 19th is set to become one of the most unforgettable nights in boxing history.
