Valentina Shevchenko Demonstrates Her Dominance in the UFC Women’s Flyweight Division
Valentina Shevchenko continues to demonstrate her supremacy in the UFC women’s flyweight division, surpassing a new generation of contenders. In a recent display of skill and determination, Shevchenko achieved her tenth victory in a UFC title fight.
The champion defended her flyweight title against Manon Fiorot in a fight that co-headlined UFC 315 at the Bell Centre. Shevchenko, with an impressive record of 25-4-1, secured the victory by unanimous decision, solidifying her position as one of the most dominant fighters in UFC history.
The fight was a competitive battle, with Fiorot constantly seeking to take the fight against the cage. However, Shevchenko managed to maintain enough distance to outstrike her opponent. A crucial moment came in the fourth round, when Shevchenko landed a strike that knocked down Fiorot, followed by impressive spinning kicks that gave her control of the scorecards.
“I expected a tough fight; she is a good fighter,” said Shevchenko, 37, originally from Kyrgyzstan. “I will keep going. The numbers [age] don’t mean anything. What matters is how you feel physically and mentally, how you perform.”

This victory ties Shevchenko for second place in the history of the UFC women’s division in terms of title fight wins, with a total of ten. The record is held by Amanda Nunes, former bantamweight and featherweight champion, with 11 victories.
Fiorot, who was looking to become the first French champion in UFC history, had moments of success in the second and third rounds. Despite Fiorot’s efforts, Shevchenko proved to be superior, controlling the pace and outcome of the fight.
For Shevchenko, this was her first appearance since the end of her rivalry with Alexa Grasso, which spanned three consecutive matches in 2023 and 2024.
