Raja Jackson Faces Criminal Charges for Assault at Wrestling Event

Raja Jackson, son of MMA legend Quinton “Rampage” Jackson, is facing multiple criminal charges related to an assault that occurred at a professional wrestling event in Los Angeles last August. According to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office, Jackson, 25, faces one count of aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury and one count of misdemeanor battery. A formal criminal complaint is expected to be filed this week. The incident took place at a KnokX event in Los Angeles. Jackson, who was scheduled to participate in a staged fight, threw the wrestler Stuart Smith (also known as Syko Stu) to the ground and continued to hit him even after he appeared to be unconscious. Before the event, Jackson stated in a live stream that he intended to get revenge on Smith, due to a brief altercation between the two earlier that day. Smith had hit Jackson with a can of beer as part of an apparent promotion for the event.

According to Smith, he suffered multiple jaw injuries during the attack, as well as a serious head injury, a lip laceration, and the loss of teeth.

Jackson was arrested in September in connection with the assault. His father, known for his participation in the UFC and Pride Fighting Championships, has condemned his son’s actions in several interviews and on social media. Jackson could face up to four years in state prison for the felony charge. The District Attorney’s office will also seek a “sentence enhancement” that could increase the prison time.
