PFL Reveals Ambitious Plans for 2026: A Globalized Calendar
The Professional Fighters League (PFL) has unveiled its plans for the year 2026, marking a milestone in its global expansion. The organization has scheduled a total of 24 events, including a combination of international and regional events.
The 2026 calendar will be composed of 16 global events and eight regional events, focusing on the MENA (Middle East and North Africa) and Africa series.
The PFL’s first main event in 2026 will be a stellar showdown.
Usman Nurmagomedov will defend his lightweight title against Alfie Davis (20-5-1) on February 7th at the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai, according to the PFL announcement.
In addition to Dubai, the PFL has two events scheduled in March in Madrid and Pittsburgh, and one in April in Chicago. The event in Madrid will represent the promotion’s first foray into Spain.
Founded in 2017, the PFL has experienced significant changes in its leadership in recent months. The company appointed John Martin, former executive of Turner and Time Warner, as its CEO in July, and Lenny Daniels, former president of Warner Bros. Discovery Sports, as its chief operating officer this week.
The promotion had historically been built around a regular season and a playoff format. That format disappeared in 2025 in favor of a single-elimination tournament. Martin has since chosen to move away entirely from the tournament model, favoring more traditional MMA fights.
The PFL has a national broadcast agreement.
