Alex Pereira Seeks Revenge Against Magomed Ankalaev at UFC 320

The former UFC light heavyweight champion, Alex Pereira, will face Magomed Ankalaev in a highly anticipated rematch at UFC 320, on October 4th in Las Vegas. The announcement was made by UFC CEO Dana White through his social media. The pay-per-view event UFC 320 will take place at the T-Mobile Arena. Pereira, who was also a kickboxing champion in multiple categories and UFC middleweight champion, became one of the most prominent figures in the sport in 2024. However, he lost his belt to Ankalaev in a decision at UFC 313 in March.

Pereira, 38, is considered one of the most decorated combat sports athletes of all time. In 2024, he was nominated as Fighter of the Year, following his impressive knockout victories against Jamahal Hill, JiYí Procházka, and Khalil Rountree Jr. Ankalaev, from Dagestan, is the favorite to beat Pereira for the second time. The 33-year-old fighter remains undefeated in his last 13 appearances. In addition to the main event, White announced a bantamweight title fight between Merab Dvalishvili (20-4) and Cory Sandhagen (18-5) as the co-main event. Dvalishvili will seek his third title defense this year, adding victories over Umar Nurmagomedov and Sean O’Malley. Sandhagen, for his part, will fight for his first undisputed UFC championship. Light heavyweight contenders Procházka and Rountree will also face off on the main card of UFC 320.
