Usman Nurmagomedov, current PFL lightweight champion, demonstrated his absolute dominance by defending his title with an impressive victory over Alfie Davis. Nurmagomedov, considered one of the best fighters outside the UFC, exhibited a masterful performance. From the start, he controlled Davis, both in the exchange of blows and in ground fighting, finishing the fight with a submission in the third round. The fight, held at the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai, was the main event of the PFL in 2026. Nurmagomedov, with an undefeated record of 21-0, executed a simple but effective fight plan, wearing down his opponent until achieving submission.

“It was a simple plan. Tire him out, make him work, make him fight, and the end was going to come,” declared Nurmagomedov, cousin of the legendary Khabib Nurmagomedov.

Alfie Davis, who earned his opportunity after the PFL world tournament in 2025, couldn’t handle the champion. Nurmagomedov controlled the fight with kicks and dodging Davis’s attacks, who never found comfort in the fight. Nurmagomedov, who trains with UFC lightweight champion Islam Makhachev, was also Bellator MMA lightweight champion, defending his title three times until 2025, when the PFL absorbed Bellator. In the co-main event, Ramazan Kuramagomedov was crowned PFL welterweight champion by defeating Shamil Musaev by decision, but surprised everyone by announcing his retirement. Kuramagomedov, who hadn’t fought in almost two years, revealed that he made the decision to retire if he won the championship. Despite suffering a broken arm during the fight, he managed to obtain a unanimous victory by 48-46.
